Adventure & extreme short film topics – how to access government film funding, rebates and permits, what distributors want, sound design, drone and aerial filming, as well as insights from successful adventure filmmakers on how to turn your passion into a career.
Coordinated top level speakers including Jolynn Minnaar, a prominent documentary director in South Africa; Cliff Bestall, who made the highly regarded 16th Man for ESPN 30 for 30 (produced by Morgan Freeman); Karen Slater a Director / DOP from Sisters of the Wilderness, which is eligible for an Oscar; Khalid Shamis, editor of Strike A Rock, Liezel Vermeulen, producer and film finance expert, Izzette Mostert from the Documentary Filmmakers Association, Jean Tresfon, Jason Heard, Kai Linder, Sherene Kingma, Dani Davenport, and Monica Rorvik, Head of Wesgro Film and Media Promotion.
